Chapelhay Community Partnership
& The Old Town Hall, Weymouth

A very successful Celebration event was held at the Old Town Hall on 13th September 2009, with re-enactments from Pike and Shot Tour and Event Company (PASTE), Art and Local History displays, music, a raffle and much more. The event was hosted by Guardians of the Old Town Hall (GOTH) - a group of five people who joined together to form a Community Interest Company and took on the lease from Weymouth and Portland Borough Council for a term of 30 years at a peppercorn rent. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Calling local businesses: if you would like a link to your business placed on this website, the directors and supporters of the Old Town Hall project would welcome your voluntary help with all sorts of things in exchange. Local Businesses etc supporting the Old Town Hall project: Lee Morris who carries out electrical work for A1 Building Services (UK) Ltd, Lynch Lane, Weymouth, checked the Old Town Hall's electrics to ensure they are safe.
The Duke of Cornwall pub at 1 St Edmond Street, Weymouth, donated money to help with the cost of insurance John Davidson Pipes of Broadmayne near Dorchester provided pipes to help with the construction of a float for Weymouth Carnival which took place on 19th August 2009. Events on Video have produced videos of various events, such as: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Chapelhay Community Partnership exists to improve the area around Chapelhay and the old High Street for its residents and also for the town in general. Under the umbrella of the Partnership, the Guardians of the Old Town Hall (GOTH) was formed as a Community Interest Company and they took on the lease for the Old Town Hall. It is the intention to repair and maintain the Grade II listed building which will be used as a Heritage Centre and Arts Centre.
